WILSON, MRS. V. E. The Democrat New, Thursday May 29th, 1919 Fredericktown, MO Mrs. V. E. Wilson departed this life May 23 at her home on East Main Street. The end was unexpected as she had been sick such a short time, friends not thinking she was so serious did not do toward her as they would have done had they been aware of her condition. All medical treatment that could be had was sent for. Dr. Cohen and Anthony and Nurse Clark all did their best , but of no avail. The funeral services were at the residence Sunday afternoon and the body was laid to rest in the Christian cemetery. Rev. Thogmorton conducted the funeral services Mrs. Wilson was born February 19th , 1880, being 38 years old, 3 months, and 4 days of age, she joined the Methodist Church at 15 years or age and was a member at time of her death. She was married to James Rickman September 11, 1898. To this union three children were born, Ada, Leo, and Mrs. Charley Laplant all of this place. Mr. Rickman dying when they young left a great task on the young mother, but being determined in mind and will she never faltered always looking for the best February 4th, 1906, she was married to Thomas Wilson, four children being born to this union, Thelma, Glenwood and Harry, whom survive her and Thomas who died in infancy. She leaves four step-daughters, Mrs. Ray Gordon of Flat River, Mrs. Virginia Dunlap of Bonne Terre, Mrs Catherine Phelps , Parkersburg West Virginia, and Mrs Ida Wilson of Omaha Nebraska. Mr. Wilson also died several years ago leaving her with three smaller children. She was then given the Post Office at Mine La Motte, being postmistress there for about 3 years and she felt her health was failing her and gave it up and moved to this place at which she died. As a mother she was sweet tempered, kind, and loving, always to please if it was for the best. As a neighbor and friend no better could be found . To know her was to love her and as a sister of which she was the only one of seven children, need not be taken into detail as anyone can imagine her position in the family circle. Her brothers are C. L. , Newt, and Henry of Olatha, Colo,, Oscar and Elmer of Marquand and Alonzo of Allbright Her friends extend the deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones. We loved her, yes we loved her. But angels loved her more. And they gently called her to yonder shining shore. The golden gates were open . A gentle voice said come. And with kind words unspoken. She calmly entered home. A Friend
