Sitzes, Welker
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb 14 at 1 p.m. at the old Trace Creek 
Church for Welker Sitzes, 87, who died Feb. 11 at Madison Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Sitzes lived with his daughter, Mrs. Linda Mouser, Lee Street, Fredericktown. 
Rev. L. A. Davis and Rev, Maybrey Wampler were the officiating ministers with 
the Ward Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Interment was in the church 
cemetery.

Welker Sitzes was born in Bollinger County on July 4, 1882, a son of the late 
Benton Sitzes and Mary Yount Sitzes.  He was married to Maggie Huggins, 
Jan. 1 1905 and she preceded him in death.  Mr. Sitzes was a retired farmer 
who moved to Fredericktown in 1944 and then to Flat River in 1960 where he 
resided until the past three months.

Surviving children are:  Mrs. Linda Mouser and Mrs. Florence Cloninger, 
Fredericktown; Fred Sitzes, Cottage Hills, Ill.; Franklin and Willard (Jim) 
of Kokomo, Ind.
