Nicholas, Ethel M. - 1980
Mrs. Ethel M. Nicholas of Cape Girardeau died February 19, 
at Southeast Missouri Hospital, in Cape Girardeau.  She was 
80 years old.  

Mrs. Nicholas was born April 13,1899 at Fredericktown.  The 
former Miss Matthews married Fred Nicholas August 4, 1925 
at Cape Girardeau.  He died September 30, 1968.  

Mrs. Nicholas had resided here since 1914, moving from 
Fredericktown.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church.  
Many of her relatives still reside in Fredericktown.  

Surviving are a son, Robert C. Nicholas of Cape Girardeau; a 
daughter, Mrs. Jean N. Warhol of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, 
Mrs. Jewell Houser of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren 
and four great-grandchildren.  

Services were held Friday, February 22 at the Walther Funeral 
Home in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Elwood Doss of the First 
Baptist Church officiating.  Burial was in Memorial Park.  

Pallbearers were Dave, Jim and Jeff Warhol, Steve and Robe 
Nicholas and Don Sweet.
