Herbst, Mary Elizabeth - 1970
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Herbst of Route1, Knob Lick, died on Oct. 26 at her 
home at the age of 83 years, seven months and 14 days.

She was a daughter of William and Lucinda Resinger Shannon and was 
born March 11, 1887 near Farmington.  On March 3, 1912 she was married 
to Ben H. Herbst and to this union six children were born, with a daughter 
dying in 1919.


She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mildred Chamberlain, 
Knob Lick; Mrs. Mamie Prichett, Farmington and Mrs. Hazel Gerlache, 
Arlington, Va.; two sons, Ben T.  Herbst, Esparto, Calif. And Raymond 
Herbst, Sacramento, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  
Several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 30 at Miller Funeral 
Home with the Rev, Harold Mobley officiating.  Burial was in the Herbst 
Cemetery near Doe Run.
