Bone, John Leroy - 1973 Mr. John Leroy Bone, foster son of Mr. And Mrs. Henry Robbs, died on April 11 in a fatal fall at the Pilot Knob Pellet Co. The accident occurred last Wednesday night. Mr. Bone, 34, Roselle, fell about 140 feet down a shaft. He was born on May 25, 1938 at Donaldson, Ill., the son of Otha and Esther Ellsworth Bone. His parents preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Patricia Marie Carrow on Aug. 29, 1959. To this union five children were born Patricia Ann, James Leroy, Edward Guy, Betty Jean and John Michael, all of the home. Also surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Otto (Irma) Wirtz of Illinois, Mrs. F. G. (Mable) Parker of Wisconsin; Esther Carter of Kentucky; Betty Roth of French Village, Mo; Ann Boyer, Mountain View, Ill.; Francis Butler, Poplar Bluff; and a brother James. He was a member of the United Baptist Church of Roselle. Funeral services were held at the Roselle Baptist Tabernacle on Saturday, April 13, with burial in the Graniteview Cemetery. The White Funeral Home of Ironton was in charge of arrangements. Pilot Knob Pellet Co. officials said Mr. Bone had been employed at the mine for more than five years.
