Aslinger, Carra May - 1972 Mrs. Carra May Aslinger, age 92, died on Tuesday, Jan 4, at the Ozark Nursing Home. She was born on March 4, 1879 at Marquand, the daughter of the late Joel R. McDaniel and Prudie Ann Ragsdale McDaniel. Mrs. Aslinger married the late Oliver Aslinger on July 25, 1897 at Marquand. He died on Oct. 28, 1945. The last of 10 children, Mrs. Aslinger is survived by two sons, Arthur and Carley of St. Louis and a daughter, Mrs. George (Myrtle) Barker of Fredericktown. Other surviving relatives include 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Nancy McCormack; a brother-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. J. A. Starkey and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Aslinger was preceded in death by four brothers, Amos, Anthony, Elbern and Henry McDaniel; a sister, Mrs. C. D. (Plina) Matthews. A son, Lawrence, 22, died in 1930 and twins, Mary and William, died in infancy. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 at the Assembly of God Church. Burial was in Pine Union Cemetery with the Rev. Max Francis officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers and great grandchildren carried the flowers. The Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
